Why Locals Love Soto Daging Sapi Bu Hadi 2
Situated in the heart of Surakarta, Soto Daging Sapi Bu Hadi 2 offers an authentic Indonesian culinary experience dedicated to the beloved local specialty: soto sapi, a fragrant and comforting beef soup that warms both body and soul. This modest yet cherished eatery on Jl. Yosodipuro invites you to indulge in a time-honored recipe, where every bowl steeps in rich, savory broth infused with traditional spices, delivering a delightful harmony of flavors that feels both nostalgic and invigorating.
The star of the menu is undoubtedly the Nasi Soto Daging Sapi, pairing hearty steamed rice with tender slices of slow-cooked beef submerged in a clear, aromatic soup that balances depth and lightness perfectly. Expanding your flavor journey, the restaurant presents an enticing array of side dishes such as Empal, Kisi (beef cartilage), Koyor (beef tendon), and Lidah (beef tongue), all skillfully prepared to complement the soto. Guests frequently rave about the beef kisi, especially when substituted for sliced beef, praised for its gratifying texture and enriched taste.
For those seeking additional layers of flavor, crispy accompaniments like Paru Goreng (fried beef lung), Babat (beef tripe), or even humble yet flavorful items such as Tahu Isi (stuffed tofu), bergedel (potato fritters), and tempeh broaden the meal’s spectrum. The tempeh here stands out for its distinct regional character — a testament to the sincerity of local ingredients and culinary craftsmanship. Pair your meal with refreshing iced beverages like Es Jeruk (iced orange), Es Teh (iced tea), or the subtly sweet Es Sirup to round off your dining experience.

My go-to beef soto place in the evening. Highly recommend the beef kisi and fried tofu. Recommend ordering soto without the beef slices and adding beef kisi instead.

The night time clear beef soup equivalent of Soto Gading, this simple and clean cafe serves many different side dishes that you can mix with your beef soup. They give a generous amount of food per bowl so you don’t really need to ask for a second serving. I mostly mixed it with crispy beef lung and some tempeh. The soup gives a nice and warming feeling to end the night.

A simple dish but very comforting. The tempe is what i like the most, different from tempe in Jakarta. Price is very humble.

We were stopping by to taste the new warung Soto near Gajah Mada Street. It can easily be found and recognize from the road. It is only open in the evening start from 5 pm until 9 pm. Sometimes when you're unlucky it is closed early than usual. But i guess every Monday it is close. It has a good taste of the broth and the beef is well done cook and soft. The price is reasonable and it has clean place as well. But i have no idea if this place has a restroom.

One of my favorite soto daging (traditional meat soup) in Solo. The dish has many beef slices, the taste is delicious, and they offer additional side dish, ranging from fried tofu and tempeh, fried beef, fried tripe, etc. Simply yummy.

The best soto daging sapi in town from my version. It starts open at 5pm but will close around 7ish, so you have to come early before you missed your soto. It closes every Sunday.
